Also, makeup nowadays is masculinizing. Darkening around the eyes mimics the male brow ridge, a feature that evolved to signal high testosterone. Women tend to think it looks good on them subconsciously because they find “hunter eyes” attractive in men. Then we have contouring, and taking it further to plastic surgery, buccal fat removal, both of which create sharp, angular cheekbones and remove the softness typically present in the female face. Then there’s overlining of the lips and lip injections. On average, men have thicker features, including lips.
What is left, creating a smooth skin texture, contouring to make the nose appear smaller, and adding color to the cheeks and lips might be feminizing, but overall, modern makeup trends create strange androgynous clown faces and I think it’s a huge subconscious factor in all the gender fuckery.
